Berlitz Japan

Berlitz Japan is (one of) the most well-established language schools in Japan.

There are language centers throughout the country in all of the major metropolitan cities, but the company is especially concentrated in the greater Tokyo and Osaka areas.

It currently has approximately 1800 employees representing over 50 nationalities, including 1 Costa Rican...

There are 32 locations in Tokyo, the largest and most profitable one located in Nihonbashi, which is where I work. Most of our students are businesspeople (especially men) who often go on business trips abroad, deal with foreign clients, interact with colleagues from overseas, or all of the above.

We do get the occasional housewife, and we have a few high school students. Heck, we even have an 80-year-old man who studies English to "keep his mind fresh"!

Currently undergoing renovations, my school has over 40 classrooms and more than 30 instructors from the four corners of the world, including New Zealand, Phillipines, Finland, US, Canada, Colombia, Australia, England, Japan, Ireland, China, Malaysia, Germany and Costa Rica!

We work 7 days a week, including holidays. I guess for some Japanese people there's no better thing to do on a holiday than study English! Working on holidays is optional, though.

Overall, our team's made up of excellent instructors of all ages. All kinds of teaching styles and personalities can be found at Nihonbashi, which is what makes it a great school.

I've only been working here for about 6 months, but I'm sure I wouldn't be happier at another school!
