Ah... the pleasures of a bike ride. So simple and enjoyable.
Since getting a bike, I’ve never felt so happy to get out and do things - even if it’s just going to the convenience store 5 minutes away. Not only is the bike bringing me enjoyment, it’s also keeping me a little healthy and helping me save money on train fares.

Shortly after getting the bike, Vivi and I set off on regular trips in the area in and around Tokyo, realizing the wealth of attractions within a short ride from our house.
One of our trips took us to Tokyo's biggest baseball stadium (Tokyo Dome) as well as its famous radio tower, Tokyo Tower. In between these landmarks, we had a small picnic at the Imperial Palace to enjoy our lunch.
We've also been all around Shinjuku, Shibuya, Aoyama, Ginza, Harajuku, Nihonbashi, Monzen-nakacho, Kiba, Kanda, Ueno, Asakusa, and many other towns. We usually set off early in the afternoon and get back home late at night, between 8 and 10.

We don't ride very quickly since we like to enjoy the views and take many pictures. Also, our bikes are known as 'mama-chari,' which are the bicycles used by non-working moms to carry groceries and their children in the bike's basket(s). They're not very fast bikes, but they sure are good enough for riding in the city.
Finally, I'm using the bike to ride to and from work, which is great because it only takes me 10 minutes each way. Most importantly, I avoid the horrible crowds at train stations, save some money, and do a little exercise.
