Super Obama

Does the world expect too much of Barack Obama?

According to a recent poll on CNN.com, 76% of the site's visitors said Yes. Barrack Obama has shown the world what great leadership he has by overcoming many hurdles and now the world expects nothing but the best from him.

I admire Obama for what he's done, not for what he will do. He's about to take over for, who many people consider, the worst US president ever. As everyone knows, the country's many problems include a financial crisis, two billion-dollar wars, and a desperate need for a new health care plan. So no one can say for sure whether Obama will fix all these problems in only 4 years. The future is certainly uncertain.

But, as I mentioned, I admire Obama for what he's done so far. Here are my top 5 reasons for calling this great leader Super Obama:

1

Obama The Brave

Even though he's well aware of all these critical issues, he's decided to take on this challenge and restore hope throughout America. Many people wonder why anyone would want to become President during such difficult times. But Obama is a passionate man who knows how to turn problems into opportunities and he did that quite a few times during the campaign.

2

Obama The Clever

He knows he cannot do it alone. He has repeatedly told Americans that "they" won the election. He hasn't been promising the world like most politicians do. Obama has inspired others to embrace his vision and to work together to achieve his goals. "The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term, but America -- I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there. I promise you -- we as a people will get there," he said.

3

Obama the Uniter

He has united America like no other President-elect ever has. "(This win) is the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled ... we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states. We are, and always will be, the United States of America."

4

Obama the Beloved

Internationally, Obama has earned the acclaim and support of most political leaders. Countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and even the Middle East have welcomed Obama and see his victory as a new beginning for America. Also, surveys conducted during the campaign showed that if non-Americans were allowed to vote in the U.S. election, Obama would score massive wins in all but a few countries.

5

Obama The Believer

He has moral courage: the willingness to stick to his beliefs, to pursue a course of action in the face of overwhelming criticism. This has led him to overcome a number of unthinkable obstacles: winning the Democratic ticket over favorite Hillary Clinton; earning everyone's trust despite his inexperience; collecting millions of dollars from small donations made by individual citizens; and, of course, becoming the first African-American President.

He may not be a real superhero, but Barrack Obama has definitely made a huge, positive impact worldwide. Personally, I'm just glad there are still people out there who can be role models, give people hope, and inspire them to become the best they can and believe in change. I know he has inspired me. YES WE CAN.
